Judge: Mr F Kane

One of my favourite breeds so thank you for a good entry. Bitches were stronger in depth than the dogs. The last time I judged the breed I was dismayed by the number of exhibits lacking in confidence and moving with their tails clamped down, quite alien to breed temperament as I have known it, and quite alien to the breed standard. Sadly, the same trait was too much in evidence in this entry. I can understand puppies being overawed if they have not been socialised but in adult dogs, I can’t accept it in the showring where performance and carriage counts. Many thanks to my steward Derek Allsop working solo but keeping things going smoothly.

1st: WILDSMITH Mrs M & Mr S Trimere Time Trail With Sandiebeck Sh.CM
10years old, in remarkable form with excellent clean dentition. Full of type with an excellent head and eye. Good legs and feet and good proportions. Could be a little cleaner in throat but he is full of quality and went well. BVIB

Class PD (5 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: MITCHELL Mr & Mrs D & J Peasblossom Xanti
11 months black/white very smart dog who moves very well and carries a good topline. Excellent bone and feet. Stop a little deep and head needs time to develop. I would prefer just a touch more leg on him but a very stylish on the mover, confident and going with long strides. BPIB
2nd: GREEN Mr K & Mrs C Kennair Diamond Geezer
10 months liver/white I liked his leg length and proportions and his head has good springer type. Eyes can be darker. Not the shoulder of the winner and can fill out in front. Good breed type and should come on well

1st: JENKINSON Mrs K Eastriding Royal Mayfair
14 months excellent springer type for size and proportions and he moves with a good stride. His head is a little heavy for my taste but he has breed type. Presented in great form
2nd: GRAY Mr & Mrs N & S Trimere Time Tracker
16 months, top sized dog whose head I preferred but he was not in the firm condition of the winner and this showed in his topline on the move. Gave his handler a hard time but has a good stride when settled. Good proportions and leg length.

1st: GRAHAM Mrs S Peasblossom Valentino
20 months quality liver/white with very good proportions and a good head. His croup falls off a little severely which detracts from his outline on the move. Good bone, legs and feet. Could have a little more lay back of shoulder. Has a lot of quality. Excellent presentation.

Disappointing class
1st: KEIGHLEY Mr J C & Mrs S J Pendarlow Denahi
2 ½ years old of good size, leg length and proportions. A little upright in front and maximum rear angulation. His muzzle is a little fine. Won on temperament and leg length.
2nd: OSBOURNE Mr P W Pendarlow Peter Pan With Braego
2 years liver/white, a little lower on the leg but I preferred his head to the winner’s. Sound mover but lacked temperament and carriage or could have reversed these placings
3rd: THOMAS Mr D & Miss G Tigerrock Super Ted

Class LD (5 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: EYEINGTON Mr & Mrs S & J Meadowdale Storm Trooper - CC
2 years top sized black/white with good leg length and excellent head and eye. Body of correct proportions and well ribbed back. Goes with a good stride. Holds his good outline on the move. DCC & BOB over the bitch on coat in a close decision.
2nd: SUCH Miss J A Trimere Ticks The Box At Mujascal Sh.CM
3 years a smaller more compact dog who is full of quality and an excellent mover, really using his well-angulated front well. Excellent conformation. Presented to look a picture. I preferred the leg length and scope through the shoulder of the winner
3rd: HAPPS, Mrs A C & MARRIOTT Miss E Clentonian Solomons Seal
Res: DAVIS Mrs S J Madisarmar Big Apple

Disappointing in that the two dogs I liked standing were both lacking in confidence on the move.
1st: BOTT, Mr R P & SAVELL Mrs C Sh Ch Art-wave's Standing Ovation For Allenie (Swe Imp)
2 years a little short on the leg for balance but a good winner of this class for movement and topline. I would prefer a little more rib on him. Good head type but could be more masculine. RDCC
2nd: LAUCHLAN Mrs J & Miss D Lochbride Thunderstruck
2 years, I liked his leg length and head type, legs and feet. Needs to firm up in body and settle in his action.

1st: AINSLEY, Miss L & NICKLIN Mr L Carlyquinn Candy Kisses
7 years a little long for balance but she had the best topline and movement in this class and was in superb condition. Firm topline and a very good head
2nd: CORBETT Miss S J Olliwa Ruthless With Trimere (Cze Imp) TAF
7 years standing could have been the winner on her proportions but she was soft in topline and not as firm in her movement as the winner.

Good class right down the line
1st: MITCHELL, Mr & Mrs D & EVERY Mr P Peasblossom Xanthe
10 months black/white with excellent outline good bone and moved very well. She carries her tail a little high but is full of temperament and I liked her type and her head and she was in great condition.
2nd: SMITH Mr R J Melverly Lil Dancer
10 months liver/white who has great type, bone and substance and whilst she moves soundly, she lacked confidence and this showed in her carriage. Had she gone with more confidence could have won this class.

15 months liver/white/tan of lovely size, proportions and outline that is held on the move. Excellent legs and feet. Quality head and eye. Should have an excellent future, really uses her conformation on the move. Long strides and happy temperament and the best forechest of the day. RBCC
2nd: JENKINSON Mrs K Eastriding Glam Princess
14 months a touch lower on the leg for balance. Also, a quality bitch with a good head. Not showing well today.

1st: MITCHELL Mr & Mrs D & J Peasblossom Whisper
20 months superb mover in real Springer style. Excellent leg length and proportions. Good rib and body but could be a little firmer in condition. Very good head type. Scored in ribs and body to take this. Top size but full of breed type and temperament.
2nd: KIRK Ms H Potrail Shape Of You
liver/tri of lovely outline and balance and also a very good mover with firm topline and excellent temperament. Feminine quality head. When she fills out in middle piece will have a very good future.

1st: HANCOCK Mrs L Meadowdale Jedi of Hanknight
2 years black/white of good proportions. Quality head, excellent neck line. Needs a little more chest. Falls off just a little too much over the croup. Just enough bone and good feet
2nd: WEYMAN Mrs J Spuffing Molly's Secret
4 years black/white, heavier type but excellent bone, feet and rib. A touch heavy in head for my preference in a bitch but she has much to commend her but needs more style on the move.
3rd: WALLIS, Mr & Mrs D & P & LEVENE Miss A Pendarlow Tiana

Good class for depth of quality.
1st: KEELY Mr & Mrs M & K Shipden Alhambian Diana Dors
2 years, lovely breed type and balance and carried herself well with excellent profile stride. Lovely head and soft expression. I’d prefer a touch more chest on her but I liked her type and balance a lot and has great temperament and springer style on the move.
2nd: CONRAD Mrs D B Peasblossom Rumours At Strathnaver
3 years took my eye for her carriage and topline on a loose lead. She has stronger bone that the winner but not the upper arm. Good head but I preferred the slightly more feminine head of the winner but she pressed hard here with her excellent type.

Class OB (9 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: CLARK Mrs S Jorobaden Teal At Syferspring
beautiful liver/white/tan who is full of breed type in her proportions, angulation, bone and feet. She has a beautiful head and soft expression. On the move she went easily on a loose lead with long, swinging strides. Lacking a little coat on the day which just held her back from winning BOB but she is top quality. Amazed this was her first BCC after a couple of reserves. Should make a very worthy Champion. CC
2nd: CALVERT Mr & Mrs M & N Calvdale Beautiful Romance
quality bitch in beautiful coat and condition with very good bone, legs and feet. Feminine head which could have a little more finish to muzzle. Went soundly but not fully relaxed and this showed I her topline and carriage.
