1ST TRIMERE TICK TOCK (MS D GREENFIELD)
This young man was just six months old and was really enjoying his day out. He has a good head shape with defined chiselling that gave a pleasing expression, eyes needs to darken which they will over time. Clean through neck and shoulder, with good front angulation. Body length of correct proportion, well made quarters with a moderate bend of stifle. Moved well for one so young and continued through to the challenge where I was delighted to award him Best Dog puppy
2ND TRIMERE TICKS THE BOX AT MUJASCAL (MISS J A SUCH)
I see litter brother and my notes read very similar in style. This chap was having lots of fun and really enjoying his time in the ring. Head developing nicely for his age with plenty of work. Clean through the neck and into well placed shoulder, good return of forearm. Standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Ribs developing well and loin of good length. Liked his quarters which he used to advantage on the move, just carried his tail a shade high

1ST BETHRYN DEVIL MOON (MS K & MISS B HOLT)
Smart in outline with good balance, head masculine needs to develop a little. Good reach of neck leading on to well set shoulders. Standing on good legs. Body well developed with ribs well sprung and strong loin. Super quarters with a moderate bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Good width of thigh. Had drive on the move but in the runoff with the minor puppy he didn’t quite have the front action.
2ND GUINNESS ON TAP AT WOODSPA (MR K & MRS L MCCOURT)
Bigger framed than the winner and well developed for his age. Just not as together yet. His head is a little strong for my tastes at the moment but should refine down with age. Good through neck and shoulders, well bodied and ribs well back. Quarters correctly angulated. Not the topline of the winner on the move.

1ST TRIXHUND TALKING OBSESSION JW SHCM (MR J BULLOCK)
A very smart young man who commands attention and today very well presented. He has a clean outline on the stack. His head has developed well and is now masculine and balanced with defined chiselling but to be picky his eyes are a little light for my taste but as he matures I am sure they will darken. Front construction is good with a powerful neck which led on to well laid shoulders. Good length of body, ribs well sprung and a muscular loin. Hindquarters correctly angled with a moderate bend of stifle and hocks well let down. He took his time to settle on the move but once he did covered the ground with ease. Considered him for the RCC.
2ND PLAIGLEN BEATERS BTRUE (MS F GLENDINNING)
Black and white with a super head, correct amount of chiselling and work. Neck of moderate length and powerful, well set shoulders and desired return of upper arm, ribs well back and firm through loin, quarters well developed and moderate bend to stifle. Thought he would win this class on the stack but he couldn’t get in to a stride on the move and didn’t have a fluid action of the winner. I hope he gets his act together as he has promise.

1ST RISELAWROAD NO DEAL (MS C & MR P BROUGH & WALKER)
He has a clean outline on the stack. His head is masculine and balanced with defined chiselling, slightly strong in back skull. Powerful neck, front construction is good, would like a shade more lay back of shoulder. Good length of body, ribs well sprung and a muscular loin. Hindquarters OK, hocks well let down. To nitpick today I wished he had more fluidity on the move – although his movement was sound and of the correct action he struggled to get in to his stride, he needs to work with his handler a bit more to complete the picture.
2ND JOROBADEN BALLABRIGAS (MRS A C HAPPS)
Liver and white with a balanced head, correct amount of chiselling and work. Neck of moderate length and powerful, would like more lay back of shoulder, ribs well back and firm through loin, quarters well developed and would like more bend to stifle. Moved true and soundly just needed to get into his stride.

1ST MOMPESSON WINCHESTER (MR R W & MRS F JACKSON)
I admit I have never been a fan of this dog from the ringside but he was the form dog in this class. He is made right and has a super masculine springer head, very typical of his breeding, balanced with defined chiselling, slightly strong in back skull, super dark eye and expression. Powerful neck, front construction is good, would like a shade more lay back of shoulder. Good length of body, ribs well sprung and a muscular loin. Hindquarters OK, hocks well let down. To nitpick today I wished he had more fluidity on the move. Although his movement was sound and accurate he didn’t hold his topline. I thought he struggled to get in to his stride in the challenge and this cost him any higher honours.
2ND TORBECK PENRHYN BAY (MRS P, MR D & MISS A WALLIS & LEVENE)
A smart young man just over four years old with a lot to like about him, and superbly presented. Masculine in head and expression. Strong neck, nicely developed chest and ribs well sprung. Powerful quarters with correct angulation. Moved out well but not quite the accuracy in footfall of the winner.

This was a challenging class, it was an honour to judge so many of the breeds top winning males. Unfortunately the heat inside the hall affected many of them and dogs that I really liked just did not play ball. In different circumstance the first three could have swapped round quite easily. But I could only judge on the day and the dog who raised his game took the top spot.

1ST INT SH CH ART-WAVES TOPDOG (J KARLSSON)
I have never seen this dog before in the ring, I understand that he has been shown over here before but I have never been present, so was totally new to me. On first impression he presented that balanced picture I was looking for. He has a masculine head and soft in expression with the correct amount of chiselling, to nit ice he is a shade strong in back skull for my tastes. He flows through the neck and shoulder and has good return of upper arm. His forechest is developed and ribs are sprung and well back to a firm loin, giving him compactness without being short. His quarters are well developed with hard first and second thigh that his rear action is accurate and has drive and purpose. I was impressed as I went over him and my thoughts were confirmed as I watched him on the move, he struggled a little on the slippery floor. In profile he came alive with that classic springer movement. As I said in the preamble the class could have gone anyway but it went to the on form dog that gave 100%. My pleasure to judge and award him the CC.
2ND SWED/DK CH SANQUE'S CUT TO THE CHASE (IMP SWE) (MRS T E TOPLISS)
Another that I have really liked from the ringside but he just wouldn’t play the game today. Black and white boy. Loved his outline , smart masculine head and expression with plenty of chiselling and fluting. Strong through the neck in to well set shoulders, good return of forearm. Depth to chest. He was standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Ribs well sprung and strong in loin, Super quarters with a good bend of stifle. He wasn’t on form on the move, I think the heat got to him. While his footfall was accurate his tail was down and he just didn’t have the drive of the winner . Called him back in for the RCC but lost out to the on form veteran

Typical head and expression with correct chiselling and fluting, kind expression and good balance. Clean neck leading on to well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Depth to chest and ribs well back. Level topline and good through the loin. Quarters well developed and correct bend to stifle. Held his topline throughout and good finish to croup. Moved well and covered the ground in profile. Lovely type of dog who I have always admired but has never previously been on form. Today he was and his young handler got the maximum amount of him, a text book lesson in handling. So close up for top honours, I thought he looked fantastic and was delighted to award him the RCC and my Best Veteran . Delighted to watch him Win the Gundog Veteran Group. Congratulations!
2ND SH CH MEADOWDALE ALABAMA SLAMMER AT ACREGATE SHCM (MISS J TRACZ)
A smart chap just seven years old and another who I have judged before and done well. There is a lot to like about him, superbly presented and I can see why he has his title. Masculine in head and expression. Strong neck, would like a little more lay back of shoulder. Nicely developed chest and ribs well sprung. Powerful quarters with correct angulation. Moved out well but handler held him back a bit so not quite the action of the winner. Super to see him again, thank you for bringing him.

1ST PEASBLOSSOM ROMA AT KINGSHEATH (MRS K W WHITTOCK)
Pretty bitch, 9 months, with a pleasing feminine head and expression which is still developing but vey appealing at this age. Clean reach of neck which led on to well placed shoulders, good front angulation
Correctly proportioned body, loin short, strong in topline, well made hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Movement was a little erratic as she was having fun, but she did enough to win the class.
2ND TRIMERE TICKET MAID (MISS S J CORBETT)
I see this one is litter sister to my best puppy dog and a lot to like about her. She has a good overall shape and style, head still a work in progress and not as attractive as the winner’s today. Clean reach of neck and correctly placed shoulders. Good length of body, slightly long in loin at the moment, quarters well angulated, hocks well let down. Initially thought she would be the winner but she threw away her chances on the move where her legs were just not cooperating. Loved her outline and shape which gave her this place.

1ST CALVDALE HOT PINK (MR & MRS M CALVERT)
An impressive youngster with a lot of quality about her. The most beautiful head and expression with correct amount of chiselling and fluting, so right for her age. This gave her a lovely expression so feminine. Clean reach of neck which led on to correctly placed shoulders, good front angulation. Correct length of body, with well sprung ribs just needs to firm up in topline on the move. Quarters well made, adequate bend of stile and hocks well let down. Movement was super, best by far in the class, once she settled was positive and covering the ground well. My Best Puppy and later watched her win The Gundog Puppy Group, congratulations!
2ND TRIMERE TICATBOO (MISS S J CORBETT)
Just six months and very raw and giving a lot away in age in this class and I see another sibling of the Best Puppy Dog. She has a super head piece still developing but should finish with an attractive expression. Liked her outline especially her neck into correctly placed shoulders, standing on good straight well boned legs and has super feet. Body of correct proportions. Quarters developing nicely with stifles well bent. Needs to find her feet but did enough on the move to get her place. At this stage I think she has bags of potential.

1ST LORDSETT UPTOWN GIRL AT BERESFORD (IMP POL) (MRS T E TOPLISS)
Fifteen month old bitch. Elegant in outline, beautiful head with good head shape, defined Fluting and chiselling under the eye she has a lovely soft expression. Neck of moderate length and leading to well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Good depth to chest for her age, developing nicely. Ribs well back and firm in loin, quarters well developed, I would want any more rear angulation or she will lose the moderate style. True sound movement and plenty of drive; just wish she would use her tail a little more. One I really like and will follow her career with interest.
2ND JOROBADEN TEAL AT SYFERSPRING (MR K & MRS S CLARK)
Another fifteen month young lady who presented a clean outline. She has a feminine head and expression, a good reach of neck. Shoulder placement OK, not quite the front of the winner, good length of body and quarters developing well but needs more width of thigh. Movement was good once she settled.

1ST LOXBOURNE DISCO DIVA AT KINGSHEATH JW (MRS B M NICHOLSON)
Liked her a lot on the stack, where she presents with a super clean outline. Feminine in head with good fluting and chiselling under the eye that gave her that typical springer kind expression. A real hint of mischief in those eyes when she looks at you. Neck of good length which just flowed in to her well laid shoulders. Standing on straight legs and super tight feet. Ribs springing nicely for her age, loin firm, perhaps a tad long but nothing that unbalances her outline. Super quarters with stifles well bent and hocks well let down. Good muscle tone. Now this is one lady who just comes alive on the move, showcasing that typical springer action forelegs swinging forward in an easy manner. She had both drive and accuracy. So close up in the challenge to the open winner but obviously lacks in maturity and finish. In the runoff with the second in open I was splitting hairs but she set off round the ring and commanded attention, she just turned and looked at me with that lovely expression and it was enough so clinched the runner up spot. Congratulations, I think she has a bright future ahead of her. RCC
2ND HUNTERHECK UNDER A SPELL JW (MR G & MRS A TERNENT)
Now this young lady was not happy today, without her normal handler and just wouldn’t settle.
Elegant in outline, good head shape and soft expression, neck of moderate length and leading to well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Depth to chest and ribs well back, firm in loin, quarters well developed for her age. Just would not settle on the move and as a consequence her front action wasn’t what it needed to be.

I liked this one lots of promise about her. Just two years and a promising bitch with a lot of quality. Most beautiful feminine head and expression, so right for her age. Clean reach of neck which led on to correctly placed shoulders, good front angulation. Correct length of body, with well spring ribs. Quarters well made, with a good bend of stile and hocks well let down. Moved out well with a good action, just carrying her tail a shade high.
2ND CHERISHYM CHARA (MR P & MRS Y RICHARDSON & TERRY-RICHARDSON)

1ST TRIMERE TA DAH ( MRS A F HILL)
This one was my style of springer, she is just over two so not yet the finished article. Her head and expression is feminine with defined chiselling and good definition. I would like her to have more layback of shoulder, the fact they are slightly forward showed a little on the move. Standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Good depth of chest OK for her age and proportionate length of body. Quarters well made with a moderate bend of stifle, not over angulated in any way. She moved positively and covered the ground with ease both in profile and fore and aft, just lacked the forward action of the principle winners.
2ND FLAMING WHIRLWIND OF MEADOWDALE JW (MR S & MRS J EYEINGTON)
Out of a very different mould to the first but I could still appreciate her virtues. Much more substantial bitch and a little too much of her for my tastes. Head of good proportion she still maintains a feminine expression and has good work and fluting. Clean through the neck and into well placed shoulders. Straight front, great ribbing and short and strong through the loin. Powerful and developed quarters, moved ok but a little erratic on the floor today and carrying too much weight which spoilt her outline

Really enjoyed judging this class and it was very much on the performance of the day. There were several exhibits who I have liked in the past who were not quite on top form today and paid the price.
1ST SH CH TRIMERE TERESA GREEN (MISS S J CORBETT)
Last judged this lady as a puppy when she won under me, and she did not disappoint today. She presents a lovely picture of balance on the stack. She has a beautiful feminine head shape and expression. Clearly defined chiselling and fluting and lovely eye colour, perhaps a tad broad in back skull. Neck of good length and muscular which led on to well laid shoulders and correct front angulation. Body of proportionate length with good depth of chest, ribs well sprung, she is still young and to me still needs to finish in body but she should do that with maturity. Muscular through the loin, excellent rear angulation, quarters well made with stifles well bent and hocks well let down. Her crowning glory is her movement, typical springer action, legs swinging straight from the shoulder, which free and easy action. Delighted to award her the Bitch CC and then Best of Breed.
2ND MOMPESSON ROYAL DANCER (MR R W & MRS F JACKSON)
Very petty bitch with a classic head, excellent shape, defined fluting and chiselling with a beautiful eye shape which gave that melting expression. Neck of good length which led on to correctly placed shoulders. Standing on good straight legs and neat feet. Mature through the body with ribs well sprung and depth to chest, strong loin. Just carrying a shade too much weight. Scores in hindquarters with stifles well bent and food well muscled thighs. Presented that picture of balance and symmetry that I was looking for and it’s no secret that I have admired this bitch from the ringside and she was firmly in my mind as a potential winner before the day, she came in to the ring and stacked up and I thought my decision would be easy but she just did not give 100% on the move, her action being rather sluggish and a little wide behind. Against the winner, and against the young graduate bitch in the challenge, it really showed, it just not her day which was a pity.

Grand old lady enjoying her day out never had the pleasure to judge her before but I can easily see how she gained her title. Her head and expression is feminine with defined chiselling and good definition. Good depth of chest OK for her age and proportionate length of body. Quarters well made with a moderate bend of stifle, not over angulated in any way. She moved positively and covered the ground with ease both in profile and fore and aft.
2ND CHERISHYM BRIGHT STAR JW (MR P & MRS Y RICHARDSON & TERRY-RICHARDSON
Feminine head with a pretty expression. Correct length of neck and depth of body with well sprung ribs set back. Quarters well made, straight well boned legs and neat feat. She just lacked a little drive and couldn’t one quite match the winner in the move
