Entry of 71 dogs, 51 present, 122 entries
I thank the committee and officers of the SESSS for the invitation to judge and their kind hospitality. Ideal showing conditions – sunny with a gentle breeze, a large, hard ring, expert stewarding and a lovely entry, made for a most pleasurable day. I felt it a great compliment to have such a high standard of exhibits and a numerically strong entry. Handling and presentation was generally of a high standard, but I was disappointed to find some weepy eyes and stained feathering.
My Best in Show was Bott’s Sh Ch Trimere Talking Point of Allanie, Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex, Sh Ch Trimere Total Devotion to Dexbenella, Best Puppy in Show Carlyquinn Classic Line. I felt the trio of Best Dog, Best Bitch and Best Puppy made a smashing line up to complete a most enjoyable and memorable judging appointment. Looking up their breeding afterwards, I am not surprised to see the top winners are closely related, the BD and BB are full siblings from different litters, and the BP’s sire and dam are also bred by the same breeder.
Dogs
Minor Puppy (4 entries, 2 absent)
1 Cole’s Trimere Touch Control, a super dog to set the scene for the day. Good type and proportions, lovely shape super front, legs and feet. Excellent ribbing, body and loin. Reserve comment on head as needs to break and develop. In fabulous coat and condition and moved well with a little floppiness so typical of his age.
2 Warbrick’s Lyndberry Lightening Star, very happy dog of good coat and colour. OK in bone, but would prefer better feet. Reasonable outline and proportions and better in head than 1 at present.

Open (7, 0)
1 Bott’s Sh Ch Trimere Talking Point of Allanie, a star of a dog at his peak. Lovely type, masculine head with rounded skull, deep muzzle and good division between. Well set oval eyes, good length of leathers. Good flow of neck through withers and topline to well set low tail. Excellent front, bone and well padded feet. Just right for ribbing, body and strength over loin. Wide thighs and second thighs, which were set off by good muscle. Absolutely true on the move. Superb presentation to deliver a package that was made to win BD and BIS.
2 Gray’s Trimere Top Score, an easy second in this class. Liked his head, type and proportions, but would prefer more angulation behind. Excellent legs, feet and bone. Good low set of tail, which was carried well on the move. Sound and active in profile, coming and going. Well presented and handled.
