Judge: Mr Michael Masters

Today was the hottest day of the year so far and boy was it hot! My journey to Windsor which would normally take 2.5 hours took 4.5 hours due to motorway closures. I apologise for the late arrival and thank the exhibitors that stayed to show under me following Windsor Championship Show, much appreciated. There was a high percentage of absentees, as I expected, but I found the depth of quality pleasing in the main. Thank you to the Officers and Committee for the invitation, also my able stewards that kept the show on the road!

Minor Puppy Dog  – 1 entry, 0 absent

1. Holman’s ROQFOLLY JUMPING JACK FLASH NAF TAF

Barely 6 months old and so very immature. Balanced head of good proportions, kind expression. Needs to develop in body and forechest, moved ok when steadied. Best Puppy Dog.

Puppy Dog – 0 entries, 0 absent

Junior Dog – 5 entries, 2 absent

1. Jenkinson’s EASTRIDING ROYAL MAYFAIR

Loved this boy’s head and scored in front construction with ample development of forechest and depth to brisket. Presented a balance outline in profile and moved sound fore and aft. He will improve with age as he becomes more confidence. Reserve Best Dog.

2. Glass’ GUNRING MY BOY

Good type of Springer well made thoughout, not quite so positive in footfall as 1 and would like a little more width to hind action

3. Gray’s TRIMERE TIME TRACKER

Special Yearling Dog – 2 entries, 1 absent

1. Gray’s TRIMERE TIME TRACKER

3rd in previous class. Not quite the head of 1 & 2 and needs to develop in front as he was tight in front movement today.

1. Topliss’ SH CH BERESFORD NIGHT TRAIN

Relatively young dog of excellent breed type, probably not yet at his prime. Masculine, shapely head without a hint of coarseness. Like his size and shape, strong front construction, good bone and tight, compact feet. Well sprung ribs with good depth to brisket, short in the loin, well developed quarters and good tail carriage. Moved sound with fluid action covering the ground with ease. No hesitation to award him Best Dog and BIS

Veteran Dog – 2 entries, 1 absent

1. Wildsmith’s TRIMERE TIME TRAIL WITH SANDIEBACK

10yo boy of good type, well proportioned head and kind expression. Mature in body and and rib, good front assembly. Held a firm topline on the move with plenty of drive, coping with the heat admirably, sound both ways. Best Veteran Dog

Special Beginners Dog – 0 entries, 0 absent

Minor Puppy Bitch – 5 entries, 3 absent

1. Cokell’s CARLYQUINN KISSES OF FIRE

8 month baby, quite mature for age with shapely head and well developed foreface. Strong front assembly with plenty of depth and well sprung ribs, strong over the loin and well bent stifles, moved sound.

2. Jones’  NINEOAKS CHA CHA

Not so mature as 1 and needs to develop in head, has good bone. Not the shoulder placement of the winner which showed in her movement. Not so developed in body or hindquarters, moved ok. Has time on her side

Puppy Bitch – 4 entries, 2 absent

1. Cokell’s CARLYQUINN KISSES OF FIRE

2. Jones’  NINEOAKS CHA CHA

Junior Bitch – 5 entries, 0 absent

1. Jenkinson’s EASTRIDING GLAM PRINCESS

Feminine bitch without any exaggeration, pretty head and eye, scored in front construction. Well developed in rib and well muscled quarters, moved sound with drive. Will watch her career with interest.

2. Lucas’ GUNRING MAYBE BABY

Bitch with appealing head, well made front, mature in rib. Has good substance throughout, moved sound. Expertly handled

3. Crouch’s TRIMERE TIMELESS WITH KASSAN

Special Yearling Bitch – 3 entries, 0 absent

3. Parr’s GUNRING APRIL LADY AT ASHRING

Maiden Bitch – 3 entries, 2 absent

1. Williams & Toublic’s COBHAY FANCY PHLOX

Found this pup to be of honest type and construction, had four corners and couldn’t move wrong. Appealing feminine head and expression, strong in front with good depth throughout and plenty spring of rib. Strong, well developed quarters, moved sound holding a level topline and impressive extension in profile. Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Show

Novice Bitch – 2 entries, 0 absent

1. Jenkinson’s EASTRIDING GLAM PRINCESS

2. Crouch’s TRIMERE TIMELESS WITH KASSAN

Pretty Liver girl with a lot to like for breed type and balance. Appealing head with kind expression, correct weight and quality coat. Moved sound but would like some more drive and animation.

Graduate Bitch – 3 entries, 1 absent

1. Weyman’s SPUFFING TANQUERAY

Black & white bitch with a lot to like and was unlucky in her earlier class. Found her to be good honest exhibit with substance in abundance. Just found her a little overdone for me.

2. Sanders’ MEONSTOKE ANGELICA

Liver bitch with a well made front, mature in body and good quality coat. Not the head shape of winner, moved untidy in front today.

Post Graduate Bitch – 4 entries, 2 absent

1. Williams & Toublic’s COBHAY DAZZLING AZALEA

Feminine headed bitch with dark eye, good depth to body, mature in rib and good coat condition. Moved sound

2. Sanders’ MEONSTOKE ANGELICA

Limit Bitch – 9 entries, 4 absent

I felt this class had the best depth of quality with bitches of different types, many fitting the standard very well.

1. Woodbridge’s CRACKERJANNE PENELOPE CRUZ Best Bitch

This bitch needs to be handled to be appreciated as she is not a flashy one. Feminine head, kind expression, strong front assembly with good depth and mature in body. Won this strong class on her superb movement holding a good shape in profile. A tad overweight today but could not deny her the honour for her honesty and soundness. Best bitch, Reserve Best in Show & Best Opposite Sex in Show

2. Richardson & Terry-Richardson’s CHERISHYM CHARA

Mature liver girl with a strong front, mature in rib. Sound on the move holding a good shape. Unlucky to meet 1 in this very strong class.

3. Topliss’ BERESFORD NIGHT CLASS

Open Bitch – 4 entries, 2 absent

1. Eyeington’s FLAMING WHIRLWIND OF MEADOWDALE JW Res Best Bitch

Feminine headed bitch of substance. Mature in rib with good depth throughout. Strong in the quarters with good development to thigh. Lacked a little enthusiasm in the heat but moved sound.

2. Richardson & Terry-Richardson’s CHERISHYM CELANEO

Different type to winner. Nice overall type and balance but moving untidy in front today

Veteran Bitch – 5 entries, 3 absent

1. Williams & Toublic’s COBHAY DAHLIA

Shapely headed girl with dark eye, scored in front assembly and mature body. Goddod thick, well muscled thigh, moved sound with drive. Best Veteran bitch & Best Veteran in Show

2. Glass’ RISELAWROAD MISS BRODIE

Feminine headed liver bitch of good breed type, mature in body, strong quarters. Moved ok but lacked some reach.

1. Crouch’s TRIMERE TIMELESS WITH KASSAN

2. Sanders’ MEONSTOKE ANGELICA

3. Parr’s GUNRING APRIL LADY AT ASHRING

Brace – 3 entries, 1 absent

Both pairs were exceedingly well handled, moving together with handlers. Felt that the winners were more of the same type

1. Williams & Toublic

2. Parr

Special Open Stakes – 7 entries, 3 absent

1. Williams & Toublic’s COBHAY FANCY PHLOX

2. Parr’s ASHRING’S INFATUATION

VHC in a strong Limit class. Bitch of good breed type, sound mover but feeling the heat at the end of the day. Could do with more attention to presentation to enhance the picture.
