I am speechless, and for those that know me that is very unusual indeed! What a wonderful entry of 467 dogs, raising a massive £1300.
Far beyond what I expected, so thank you all most sincerely for supporting the show and the two charities represented. We have come together in such a unified way which is a real tribute to you and our wonderful breed.
Malcom Shovel (Tiverstone) was such a special person. He dedicated his life to the breed along with Julie. Such a popular man and a talented up and coming judge. His club, SWESSC are truly missing his influence. It was at one of their shows that I spoke to Malcolm, I had just been tested for MND and was eager to talk to him. He was a calming influence, making light of many of his symptoms as we talked through the effects of the disease. We send all of our love to Julie and trust that she will take solace from your support of her local branch of MNDA.
With regard to Just Springers Rescue I’m sure Liz Austin and her team will be immensely thankful for your support. I know just how much they struggle for income and this will be such a bonus for them to carry on their important work.
Lastly, a massive thank you to both Bev Nicholson and Eve Whitley for taking on such a challenge. When Bev suggested running a show I said “Go on then” thinking the answer would alleviate any input from me. It was the following day she roped me in to get sponsorship together. That was the easy bit, it’s when the entries come in the hard work begins. So from me, the committee and I'm sure the members and loyal owners of our breed too, can I offer sincere thanks for the sheer determination and extreme effort you two ladies put in to make this such a successful event. xx
